RAGLAN Surfing SchoolIt was Raglan that put New Zealand on the map, when pictures of this endless pointbreak were printed in surf magazines all around the world. Therefore it is not surprising to find a surfing school and accommodation camp there. Not only the amazing waves, but the stunning surroundings and peaceful village of Raglan make this place an awesome getaway for surfers in the land of the long white cloud.
The Surf CampHidden in a 110 acre native reserve, Raglan Surfing School offers all kinds of accommodation; from cozy dorms at Karioi Lodge to luxury holiday houses with impressive sea views through Sleeping Lady Lodges. If you are travelling by van there are electric campervan sites with a nearby kitchen and bathroom facility for your convenience.
The Surfing School is perfect for any skill level or age group. Surf lessons are tailored to each learner’s level by their instructors that accompany each lesson in the water. Raglan Surf School lessons range from one-on-one private lessons to large group rates or just boards for hire if you want to explore New Zealand’s longest lefthander on your own.
SurfingNo doubt, the long lefthand-pointbreak of Raglan is the most popular wave in New Zealand. With a big swell that starts at Indicators point then moves on to Whale Bay, Manu Bay and eventually lands on the black volcanic sand of Ngarunui Beach, all of which combines to be an actual leg-burning ride. It is a dream of every Goofy-Footer and the perfect spot for Regulars to practice their backhand. But even beginners find suitable waves breaking over sand bottom and getting helpful advices by the qualified instructors of Raglan Surfing School.
