Elementsurf

Elementsurf is situated in green northern Spain. The region of Cantabria boasts steep coastline and fine sandy beaches where

powerful waves break. So if you're looking for a relaxed surfing holiday – you've found just the right place! The atmosphere at the

camp is just as idyllic as its surroundings. Elementsurf isn't a typical "party camp" where the guests are aged between 16 and 20.

The team attaches great importance to professionalism coupled with a real enjoyment of surfing. To sum it up - at elementsurf you

can look forward to first-class fun!

The surf camp

Elementsurf is located in the Oyambre nature reserve. The camp is only around 150 metres away from the beach as the crow flies

and it offers a great surfing experience for both beginners and advanced surfers.

Guests can choose between accommodation in the luxurious Element house and the Oyambre camping ground, which means that

there's something to suit every budget.

Element house
The double rooms have either a large double bed or two single beds.

All rooms are en-suite (shower and WC), and are equipped with flat-screen TV, telephone, bedside table and a small desk. Rooms with a

direct sea view are also available for a small additional charge.

Daily life at the surf camp centres around a sun terrace with a small café, a dining room and a lounge with a fireplace. The house also

has a garden which is perfect for relaxing with a barbecue area, sun loungers and an awning.

Camping grounds

The Oyambre camping grounds are very near the surf camp (approx. 300m). There is a small supermarket, a restaurant, a cafeteria

and a launderette on site. Hot water can be used free of charge.

Surfing

The surfing spots are among the few places in Europe that have been spared by mass surfing tourism. They only get crowded (like the

better known places in France and Portugal) a few weekends a year. As the surfing spots are all different you won't have the feeling

that the wave conditions are always the same. There's plenty of variety: from the fine sandy beach at San Vicente, the wave in

Oyambre that break at the estuary or the reef at Punta Liñera... surfers will find plenty to challenge them!

Prices

Surfing courses are taught by experienced ISA (International Surf Association) surf instructors. Instruction in small groups

guarantees maximum success. The prices for the different courses are as follows:

Trial course
Here guests can try their hand at surfing and find out whether it is the right sport for them. The agenda comprises basic

theoretical knowledge and first attempts at paddling and standing up.

Price includes: 1 day (4 hours) of theoretical and practical lessons, surfing equipment, transfer

Price: €69

Beginners' course
This is an intensive course comprising 3-4 hours of practice every day supplemented by basic theoretical knowledge. The "training plan"

also includes in-depth video analyses – which means that there's nothing to stop you from making progress.

Price includes: 3 days (12 hours), 5 days (20 hours) of theoretical and practical lessons, surfing equipment, video analysis, transfer

Price: 3 days €179, 5 days €239

Advanced course
On day 1 elementsurf assess the surfer and his or her skills and on the basis of this you and the instructor then discuss further targets.

In this course elementsurf drive the participants to the region's best surfing spots where they can continuously improve their performance.

Of course elementsurf also work with precise video analyses here.

Private lessons
The most intensive option for a surfer is to take private lessons. Here, each surf instructor supervises one or two surfers. Beginners

receive permanent feedback enabling them to reach their goals more quickly. Advanced surfers will have an opportunity to practice

the first big manoeuvres and tricks with the surf instructor.

Price includes: 2 hours of theoretical and practical lessons, surfing equipment, video analyses and transfer to the surfing spots.

Price: €79 for a single person/€99 for two people

The prices for accommodation depend on the time of year and level of comfort. From simple to luxurious –

there's something for everyone. Further information can be found on the elementsurf website.

The region

The region boasts unique scenery and the camp is the perfect base for exploring the natural park with its green meadows, eucalyptus

trees and marshland. The lagoon, estuary and of course the beaches of Gerra, Merón and Oyambre also add to the special flair

of this beautiful landscape. Nearby you'll find restaurants, a beach café and a surfer bar where the night can sometimes turn into day.

The pretty nearby town of Comillas with its palace and Gaudi-designed building is also worth a visit. The town offers lots of

opportunities shopping and you can also stop off for a drink in one of the many bars. The fishing village of San Vicente de la Barquera

also deserves a mention. Its excellent fish restaurants are sure to tempt you. Elementsurf offer transfers to Comillas and San Vicente

de la Barquera at fair prices.
