Waveguru Fuerteventura

The Waveguru surf camp (formerly Cowabunga) was established in 1998 on the south west coast of the island.

Close to the village of La Pared especially beginners will enjoy the conditions. 

The surf camp

Situated only a few 100 metres away from the beach, Waveguru offer different kinds of accommodation. You can

choose between simply putting your tent up in the surf camp’s garden or sleeping in the large dormitory or you can

rent a studio, an apartment or even an entire house for your stay.

There are surfing courses for beginners, intermediates and advanced surfers, lasting from 3 to 9 days, 4 hours per day.

The beach and the village are in walking distance, so you won’t need a car.

The Surf

In La Pared especially beginners will enjoy the easy conditions for learning how to surf:

• 100 % guaranteed waves
• You can walk up to 80 metres into the sea, so you won’t be exhausted due to paddling or swimming.
• The waves break 50 − 100 m from the beach on sand banks
• No stones or shells in the water
• Water temperature: 17 ° ( Febr.) – 24 ° ( Sept.)
• Air temperature: 20 ° ( Febr.) – 30 ° ( Sept.)

The Region 

Fuerteventura belongs to the eastern part of the Canary Islands and is a true paradise for people who love water sports.

The best area for surfing is the coastal strip between Costa Calma and Jandia.

Not only the picturesque villages, solitary landscapes and the amazing steep coast are very attracting, but also the

capital – Puerto del Rosario. The town’s sightseeing spots are the harbour, the esplanade and the historic buildings.

If you stay there in the beginning of the year, you’ll have a great carnival experience.
