And now we move on to world-class content! With South America’s Benoit “Piccolo” Clemente we have found a very special interviewee for our latest issue of the "6+6+6" interview series. All who have studied the headlines of the surf scene during the last weeks will likely know him: At the end of January, “Piccolo” won the Huanchaco Longboard Pro Peru and had just shortly before scooped the world championship title at the Billabong ISA World Surfing Games with the Peruvian national team. 

Learn in the following 6+6+6 interview what Benoit aspires in life, where he enjoys surfing and why he does not let himself get worked up in the line-up.

2. Where and when were you born?

On May 25th, 1982 in Cajamarca (Peru)

3. What’s the best thing that has happened to you since that day?

To live at the beach

4. And who are you? Tell us three things that characterize you!

Adventurer, sportsman and a good surfer haha…

5. Where are you at the moment?

HUANCHACO – PERU

6. Where would you like to be?

In another country to enjoy new waves.

7. When did you start surfing?

At the age of 6 in Huanchaco.

8. What kind of surf board do you have?

Right now I have a longboard! WAYO WHILAR 9.0.

9. What’s your home spot and what’s your favorite spot?

Huanchaco (La Playa).

10. What was your personal surfing highlight?

World champion with the Peruvian national team 2010.

11. What makes you angry in the line-up?

Nothing. You have to accept everything the way it is and try to surf as well as possible.

12. What is your dream surfing destination?

Good waves, sun, plants and my family… Where? I don’t know yet… haha… 

13. What do you feel when you ride a wave?

Freedom and a lot of passion.

14. What do you enjoy doing after a day of surfing?

Knowing that I have really owned the waves!

15. What do you like doing besides surfing?

Watching movies and meeting up with friends.

16. Tell us three things you want to achieve in your life!

Being world champion, having a family, being happy and healthy.

17. If you could change one thing in the world, what would that be?

There is more than one: No poverty! No diseases! No wars! No drugs! No terrorism! No malice!
