It's time for a new 6+6+6 interview:

The Faith21-sponsored surfer Arthur Wystrychowski fascinated the audience in this year's ADH Open finals with radical maneuvers and eventually left Seignosse as winner.

In the following 6+6+6 interview the likeable Berliner shares his thougths about surfing, life and the role he plays in the world.

Surf-Devil sends a warm thanks to the German capital and wishes everyone a diabolic pleasure reading the interview!

1. What’s your name?
Arthur Wystrychowski

2. Where and when were you born?
On October 9th, 1984 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GER). I was almost born in Italy because my parents were going on holiday when it happened (one month early).

3. What’s the best thing that has happened to you since that day?
Well, there are many good things, but surfning is definately one of them.

4. And who are you? Tell us three things that characterize you!
I'm the guy who always smiles, who's is foolish and a dummy (that's at least what my girlfriend says).

5. Where are you at the moment?
In Berlin Schöneberg in my flat/kitchen at the back left corner.

6. Where would you like to be?
Where there's some nice waves, of course! A fiery left point in warm tropical waters would be nice.

Arthur Wystrychowski

7. When did you start surfing?
At the tender age of 15 I stood on a surfboard for the first time.

8. What kind of surf board do you have?
I have differents ones depending on the waves. At the moment very often a board made by shaper Gero (Fatum), 5’6’’/19 ½’’/ 2 ½’’ and surfboards by FAITH21, of course.

9. What’s your home spot and what’s your favorite spot?
Home: French beach breaks and Palmar.
Favourites worldwide: Pavones, La Punta (the left in Puerto Escondido), Barra de le Cruz; in Europe: Bajamar, Hierba Buena, Supertubes.

10. What was your personal surfing highlight?
Take-off without using the knees.

11. What makes you angry in the line-up?
Ignorance, disrespect and exaggerated local demeanor.

12. What is your dream surfing destination?
There are a lot: Indonesia, Peru, kiwi country...

Arthur Wystrychowski

13. What do you feel when you ride a wave?
I have the feeling of freedom. I just love to be in the water, small and at the mercy of nature. At the same time this indescribable feeling that you have when you go surfing. One of the most intense feelings ever.

14. What do you enjoy doing after a day of surfing?
If it was cool I look forward to another session. Otherwise a shower and some food.

15. What do you like doing besides surfing?
To travel, to spend time with friends and to play music.

16. Tell us three things you want to achieve in your life!
To live in a little house by the sea, to do a job that fulfills me, and to have a family. This probably sounds pretty down-to-earth, but of course I also want to travel a lot and enjoy life.

17. If you could change one thing in the world, what would that be?
Everybody would have the insight that we ought to treat other people and our planet with respect instead of exploitatively and that you cannot live from money alone.

18. Tell us one embarrassing thing you would rather forget!
Err, when I think about it I've probably already forgotten what it was...
