So, let's continue our 6+6+6 interview series:

This time Johnny Nesslinger has answered our questions. The 34-year-old Austrian runs Austrian Surfing and trains future surf instructors. Being very environmentally conscious, Johnny preferably cooperates with sustainably acting companies such as Verival and Patagonia.

Read about Johnny's views on himself, surfing and life in the following 6+6+6 interview.

Surf-Devil sends many thanks to Austria - enjoy reading everybody!

The 6+6+6 Interview (no. 4)

1. What’s your name?

Johnny Nesslinger

2. Where and when were you born?
27th November 1975 in St. Pölten (Austria)

3. What’s the best thing that has happened to you since that day?
The fact that, whatever happened, there always were the right people at the right times making it either unforgettable or at least endurable.

4. And who are you? Tell us three things that characterize you!
Many philosophers have already failed trying to answer this question - I think I'm somebody who tries to live consciously as a free human being, acting in the moment.

5. Where are you at the moment?
At home in the mountains, in Innsbruck :)

6. Where would you like to be?
Right here, otherwise I'd be somewhere else ;)

Johnny Nesslinger

7. When did you start surfing?
In 1997.

8. What surfboard do you ride?
5' 9" Bufo Boogiefish in France, 6' 6" in Indonesia

9. What’s your home and what’s your favorite spot?
There's no home spot as such here in Austria, so in a wider sense I'd say home is where the heart is - it can be everywhere :)

Favorite spot: Nias

10. What was your personal surfing highlight?
The first tube I got out of again :)

11. What makes you angry in the line-up?
Nothing, it's just not worth it. And there are lots of things that are much worse than paddling in the line-up :)

12. What is your dream surfing destination?
I'd love to go to Hawaii!

Johnny Nesslinger

13. What do you feel when you ride a wave?
That depends on the wave - in good conditions I feel adrenalin, joy, the moment, life - and sometimes just nothing.

14. What do you enjoy doing after a day of surfing?
Coconut juice, fruit salad and a big portion of Nasi Goreng.

15. What do you like doing besides surfing?
Pretty much everything that has to do with exercise, laughing, eating and sleeping.

16. Tell us three things you want to achieve in your life!
Optimally develop body, mind and soul and live in harmony with the world. That's already it...

17. If you could change one thing in the world, what would that be?
To take everybody's awareness to such a high level that nothing has to be changed anymore because all the people are automatically doing what is best for the world (and thus for themselves).

18. Tell us one embarrassing thing you would rather forget!
I'm very rarely embarrassed, or I've already forgotten when I was ;)
