Round three of our 6+6+6 interview series:

This time the Swiss Eveline Meier has answered our questions. For years Eve travelled around the whole world until she started surfing in Costa Rica and got settled there. Today she is running Casa Surf in Avellanas together with her husband Giovanni.

How the Swiss Longoard Champion of 2008 describes herself, what she still wants to achieve in her life, and why macho posturing gets on her nerves – read this and more in the following 6+6+6 interview.

1. What’s your name?

Eveline Meier

2. Where and when were you born?
1971 in the town of Thun in Switzerland

3. What’s the best thing that has happened to you since that day?
I learned how to surf :-)

4. And who are you? Tell us three things that characterize you!
I am...
...(much too) cheeky
...sometimes a little too aggressive
...deep in the heart a really nice person

5. Where are you at the moment?
In Playa Avellanas / Costa Rica, 4 mins away from a pretty good break.

6. Where would you like to be?
Hawaii / Waikiki, simply Honolulu... longboarding :-) ... in front of a cool bar where they're playing music surfing nice and clean glassy waves. It is still my dream to go surfing in Waikiki...

7. When did you start surfing?
Around seven years ago.

8. What surfboard do you ride?
5'11 and 9'0

9. What’s your home and what’s your favorite spot?
Home spot: Playa Avellanas, favorite spot: Rivermouth / Tamarindo... or rather Playa Maderas / Nicaragua

10. What was your personal surfing highlight?
Winning the local contest in Tamarindo and getting 350,- US$ of prize money.

11. What makes you angry in the line-up?
Manly, stupid macho posturing, when they want to prove to you that they are better surfers than you. So bad behaviour in general.

12. What is your dream surfing destination?
Waikiki / Honululu

13. What do you feel when you ride a wave?
Freedom, inner silence. I just love to be in the water.

14. What do you enjoy doing after a day of surfing?
Eating, having a shower...

15. What do you like doing besides surfing?
Hm... that's difficult. I like to go dancing...

16. Tell us three things you want to achieve in your life!
I want to...
...become a good musician,
...be Longboard Champion of the World (I won't manage a shortboard any more, but I still have hope for the lonboard :-)
...go surfing in Indonesia.

17. If you could change one thing in the world, what would that be?
Just one? Maybe enact a worldwide one-child-rule to get a grip on the problem of overpopulation.

18. Tell us one embarrassing thing you would rather forget!
There are so many ;-). Hm... dissing somebody who's dropping in and then dropping in myself...
